SHAUN MARIE GRAHAM

I wanted to put a face to this business, and show you that there is a real person behind all these creations.  We now reside in Southwest Virginia in the beautiful Appalachian Mountains.  We grow our own food, raise our own chickens, and make as much as we can from scratch.  These are skills that we are passionate about, and also passing on to our own children of how to be more self sufficient and okay with being uncomfortable.  I grew up in South Texas where I spent most of my time outdoors in nature.  It was a place of freedom for me. The Gulf of Mexico supplied food for our family, and respite from life’s woes.  Art, nature, and music have always had a special place in my heart, and have allowed me to process life’s lessons into full understanding. I love hand fabricating jewelry, as the process creates a place of serenity for me, and is a form of meditation and communion with the creator of all that is. My mind shuts off, and there is a healing that transpires. Jewelry is one of my gifts to this world, and each is a piece of hope for all that wear it. It is intended to be a reminder that you too can find that space in which you are perfect just where you are right now even though it doesn’t feel that way.

ABOUT THE JEWELRY

This is pure enjoyment for me and I love making every piece.  I use solid sterling silver and/or copper with natural stones to create pieces. I learned to make jewelry by apprenticing under another artist, and learning all the basics to creating little pieces of metal art. She taught me how to solder, saw, set stones, and make my own stamps out of center punches and chisels to create little drawings on metal.  Every marking on my hand stamped pieces is like a brush stroke on a painting to create a picture.   It often takes hundreds of strikes with multiple stamps to create a picture.  Some pieces are made from recycled sterling silver that is melted down, hammered and rolled in a mill.  All jewelry is one of a kind, and made to provide a sense of comfort and hope for the one wearing it.  Inspiration for jewelry comes from nature and the force of creation behind it all.  Many ideas come from a quiet mind and are usually not planned.  If you would like to see the full scope of what I do and make, follow my works of art on social media(go to bottom of this page and click on the social media of your choice) Hope to meet you one day in person!!
